Winter Wonderland 2009 in Hyde Park, London

Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland begins on 21st November.

The popular event, which is suitable for people of all ages, has attracted dozens of celebrities in the past, including the Beckhams, Girls Aloud and Gwen Stefani.  Highlights this yer include central London’s largest outdoor ice rink and Zippo’s Christmas Circus, which will hold performances every night in a heated big top.

Visitors can also enjoy a ride on the Winter Wonderland Wheel, which stands more than 200 feet above Hyde Park and offers panoramic views of the city.  The wheel features 40 heated pods capable of accommodating up to six people each and rides last approximately 30 minutes.

Visitors will also find dozens of attractions in the Santa Land zone, including the North Pole Slide and Gingerbread Sweetstore.

As well as enjoying the rides, there are plenty of opportunities to buy Christrmas presents and to sample delicious seasonal treats at the Winter Wonderland Christmas market.  There will be more than 50 traditional-style chalets will be offering a range of handmade continental goods and hearty food.  There are also several cafes and bars where visitors can enjoy food or warm up with a hot drink.
